The successful participation of a candidate in the certification examinations of this subject demonstrates that he/she has the competence and ability to undertake all the necessary work for the restoration and smooth operation of defective engines. The term “reconditioning” refers to the series of machining and engineering operations to restore a machine to its original condition so that it can function properly, in particular by restoring a worn cylinder by grinding its outer walls. However, it involves the restoration of the functionality of a wider range of engine components through specific machining operations to restore their metal parts.
The syllabus of the examination includes both the candidate’s theoretical knowledge and his knowledge of current issues in the reconstruction of engines and their components.
Requirements for taking the certification test:
- University graduate
- Graduate of any school in a relevant subject (e.g., TES, EPAL, EPAS, TEE)
- Graduate of at least compulsory education and relevant professional training
- Graduate of at least compulsory education and relevant professional experience
