The holder of the “Green Management of Livestock Holdings and Breeding Establishments” certification is defined as the person who is able to contribute to the compliance of breeding establishments and livestock holdings as “green” units, taking into account techniques to reduce the environmental impact of these units.
Successful participation in the certification examinations for the subject “Green Management of Livestock Holdings and Breeding Establishments” demonstrates an individual’s knowledge to participate in the evaluation of practices which are relevant in this field. In addition, demonstrates that this person is able to collect data necessary for decision making and support actions related to the green management of breeding establishments and livestock holdings, thus adding significant value to the activities of these enterprises Indicative job duties include the following:
- Engaging in the conversion of breeding establishments and livestock holdings into “green” units
- Continuous monitoring of the emergence of new practices in their field of activity
- Monitoring of elements that contribute to the assessment of the environmental footprint of a livestock holding
- Participation in activities that are supportive of the intended (pro-environmental) operation of the business.
Requirements for taking the certification test: Be 18 years old or older and have/be::
- Academic Degree
or
- Graduate of an optional secondary school, as applicable in his/her country of origin or residence and completion of a training programme of at least 60 hours in a relevant subject
or
- Graduate of compulsory education, as applicable in his/her country of origin or residence and completion of a training programme of at least 100 hours in a relevant subject.
* In this sub-scheme, is given the possibility to the candidate to be evaluated either in Greek or in English. In case the candidate chooses to be examined in the English language, it is recommended that his/her level of knowledge in English is at least B1 (moderate knowledge).
